I recently discovered an artist whose work closely correlates with mine: Shawn Barber. Barber is a realistic painter who focuses on painting people with tattoos as well as tattoo artists. While his style is much more naturalistic and looser than mine, the connection with subject matter and overall aesthetics are very closely related. As far as the work itself, I find it beautiful and I feel like it gives me even more incentive to try to perfect my own paintings and concepts, particularly with the task of making the tattoos actually look attached to the skin.
